Limelight Theatre offers theatre instruction for ages 3 to 18 in the KidzfACTory program — with fully staged shows, workshops, day camps when school is out, summer camps, and outreach programs at area schools and organizations. See programs below.

Taught by tap instructor Missy Schmotzer. This class is designed for the actor. Learn the basic and most popular steps used in musical theatre choreography, how to break them down and put them together for a quick routine. Actors will gain confidence in basic tap steps needed for quick learning in an audition setting. These classes do not culminate in a recital.

Students must provide their own tap shoes. Dance or athletic clothes, no baggy pants. Hair secured off the face.

**For students participating in Spring’s THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, girls must wear black Mary Jane taps and boys must wear black Oxford taps**

A SEUSSIFIED CHRISTMAS CAROL

 

A whimsical reinvention of Dickens’ most beloved Christmas story in wacky rhymed couplets. With zoot fruited juices and binka bird geese, from Bed-Headed Fred to Timmy Loo Hoo, this tale of glorious holiday cheer is similar to something Dr. Seuss might have come up with — if he ever had his way with the story!

SNOOZY SNOWFLAKE MUSICAL

This imaginative mini-musical has Snoozy Snowflake reluctant to fall in line with the tasks of the other snowflakes which holds up the first snowfall of winter! Snoozy discovers that each of us is special and offers unique contributions to family, school and community. Grades K-2. Performance Time: 15 minutes.

Imaginative mini-musical about a group of musically talented vegetables growing in Freddy and Franny Farmer’s garden.  This is not your typical garden-variety musical. The french-fried potatoes have “appeal,” leafy vegetables sing “Lettuce Entertain You,” and corn and peas beg “Please Don’t Put Us in a Can-Can!”  With the help of Freddy and Franny, these lively veggies sing and dance their way into everyone’s hearts.

Based on the legendary, multi-award-winning, musical comedy classic about rolling the dice and falling in love under the lights of Broadway. Guys and Dolls JR. is an adaptation of the show considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy. Its namesake ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950 and won numerous Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Frank Loesser’s brassy, immortal score and witty book makes Guys and Dolls JR. a perennial crowd pleaser.

BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL

The cutthroat world of competitive cheerleading meets the fierce rivalries of high school politics and romance. Bitingly relevant, sprinkled with sass and inspired by the hit film, Bring It On The Musicaltakes audiences on a high-flying journey that is filled with the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal and forgiveness.
