Dear Limelight Theatre Patron,

First of all, on behalf of all of us on the Board and Staff at the Limelight, we hope you and your family are healthy and staying safe. As our community continues to adapt to a new way of living due to the coronavirus pandemic, we at the Limelight have been doing what we can to respond and support you all in our own way – from ongoing communications over social media to holding virtual KidzfACTory classes for our local students who have had to jump into distance learning overnight.

As you know, things like the avoiding of large gatherings, and the closure of non-essential businesses have had significant impacts on the entire theatre industry from Broadway to community theatres like the Limelight. Some good news for the Limelight is that patrons like you have stepped up to support us during this challenging time with your encouraging messages and your financial contributions through our recently launched, The Show Must Go On, fundraising campaign.

One question that we’ve received from our patrons and one that we’ve been asking ourselves is, “When will the Limelight reopen?” The Board and Staff at the Limelight talk almost daily about the current state of affairs related to the coronavirus and how it will impact not only when we reopen, but how. As for the “when,” while we may need to make further revisions to this schedule, based on the current recommendations from the CDC and healthcare professionals, our revised schedule for the remainder of our 28th season looks like this:

A Flea in Her Ear – August 13 – 30 (tickets to go on sale closer to the production’s run)
Little Women – postponed until further notice
Bus Stop – postponed until next season
Parade – postponed until further notice

Please know that having to cancel or even postpone any production is not an easy decision to make. If you already had reservations for any of the productions above, please review the ticketing options below. Upon reviewing, please send an email to [email protected] or call the Box Office at 904.825.1164 ext. 10 Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday between 10:00am – 12:00pm. Be sure to have your reservation details ready (name on the reservation and performance date) and we’ll help you as soon as we can.

For Subscribers:

  • An additional 3 tickets (for Pick 8 subscribers) or 6 tickets (for Pick 16 subscribers) will be added to your account when you renew your subscription for the 29th Season. (Subscription information coming soon!)
  • Donate any unused Season 28 tickets to NE Florida First Responders.

For Non-Subscriber Patrons:

  • Receive Patron Credit for the amount of any unused tickets. Patron Credit never expires and can be used towards purchases of Subscriptions, Individual Tickets, Education Tuition, etc.
  • Donate the value of your unused Season 28 tickets to the Limelight Theatre, The Show Must Go On campaign.
  • Donate unused Season 28 tickets to NE Florida First Responders.
  • Receive a Refund

In closing, I want to thank you again for your ongoing support of the Limelight. Please continue to stay safe and healthy as we all weather this storm together. And, as always, thank you for your desire to “be part of our story”!

Chris MacEwan
President, Board of Directors

Hello friends,

After weeks of careful consideration, many discussions, and thinking critically about how to move forward, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Limelight Theatre Education summer camps. We are devastated. Summer camps are the highlight of the year for us. Our organization is buzzing with the vibrancy of young artists discovering what truly makes each one of them special. We’re heartbroken that we cannot be in person to celebrate those special joys.

Our primary concern is for the health and safety of our students and their families, our staff, and our community at large. We have kept up with federal, state and local guidelines, and were hoping cases would dwindle faster than they have. Please know the staff and Board of Directors at Limelight Theatre are working on the safest course of action to re-open as quickly and as mindfully as possible.

We look forward to coming back this fall, stronger and healthier. We have attached the Limelight Theatre Education season announcement, and cannot wait to see our students shine onstage. Our teaching artist staff is lined up for next season and will be ready to greet you at the stage door in September.

You may choose to move your summer camp tuition to ANY of our show tuitions next season, donate it back to the Education Department, or receive a refund.

We miss you, and we cannot wait to be back doing what we do best, creating art with our community. We look forward to seeing you soon, in the Limelight!”

Director of Education, Limelight Theatre
