Limelight Announces Summer Camps and Workshops

04.02.2009

KIDZfACTory, the educational branch of Limelight Theatre, is offering several camps and workshops.  According to Education Coordinator Kate Messenger, these productions and workshops are geared toward helping students ages 7 to 17 in all walks of life by boosting self confidence, public speaking and performance skills.

InFuzzy Muzzy’s Fairytale Factory, students will bring some of their favorite fairytales to life in this hilarious workshop.  Designed for students six and up, the workshop runs April 21 to May 21, meeting twice a week, with a performance on May 23, Production fee is $80.

Older students, ages ten and up, are needed for the summer camp performance of Godspell, the classic Broadway show based on the Gospel of Matthew.  Camp runs June 15 to July 12, Monday through Friday and tuition is $425.  Godspell will be performed July 9 – 12.

The Emperor’s New Clothes is a workshop designed for ages 6 – 10 and runs July 20 – August 7. This is a Monday through Friday camp and tuition is $300.  Students will have fun as they play theatre games, rehearse the show, make set pieces and paint a backdrop.  Performances are August 7 & 8.

The KIDZfACTory is funded in part by The Jacksonville Jaguar Foundation.  Their continuous support allows us to keep tuition costs low and offer scholarships to families in need.

Lifelong friendships have been  formed by KIDZfACTory students as they work and play together.  Pictured here are some of our recent performances, including Annie, Once on This Island, and The Mad Adventures of Mr. Toad.
