Miracle Worker Opening Night Honors Judy Ginn

03.16.2009

The opening night performance of The Miracle Worker is dedicated to Judy Ginn, a long-time supporter of the Limelight Theatre who recently resigned from the Board of Directors after 14 years of service.

Born and raised in Palatka, Judy graduated from the University of Georgia and Stetson College of Law.  She practiced law for many years in Orlando,  specializing in criminal defense.

Judy joined the Limelight Board in 1995, becoming its third Board member, along with founders Anne Kraft and Jean Rahner.  At that time the Theatre had no permanent home and venues for performances ranged from restaurants, churches, auditoriums and a rented property behind KK’s Tire Store.  She served as President of the organization for two years and was President when the Theatre moved into its current location in 2001.

In addition to Board service, Judy has performed in several Limelight plays including Twain by the Tale, Talking With, A Couple of White Chicks Sitting Around Talking and Sylvia.

Judy is married to Hunt Bowman and the two have four sons, Ron and Beau Ginn and Stewart and Trevor Bowman.  The Bowmans have recently opened two new businesses:  Southeast Sailing & Yachts, Inc. (a Hunter sailboat dealership whose territory stretches from Fort Pierce to Charleston)and The Canvas and Upholstery Center.

The Board of Directors, The Advisory Board, the staff, the Guild and all other members of the Limelight Family offer Judy a heartfelt “thank you” for her many years of dedicated service.
